Glitter with Substance…

My good friend Catherine Patterson designed an amazing collection called Glitter with Substance for her final collection at the London College of Fashion. It explores the exploitation of westernisation through the juxtoposition between the western and congolese culture. Experimenting with the popular zig zag of the Congo to the basic silhouettes of the 60s with the revolutionary culture of the Black Panthers inspired the mood and colours for the collection as well as developing fabrics and embellishments in new innovative ways to exaggerate the definition behind the line. This was one of my favourite collections this year and I am excited to see what she does next!
